Client Testimonials

I settled on a property on Powhatan that needed extensive repairs. I was very pleased to learn that Baltimore Community Lending would provide acquisition as well as rehabilitation loans on a property like mine. I met with your loan officer, Ms. Pat Clements, who was in charge of the vacant house loan program. Ms. Clements made the process work for me in record time, as I was forced to settle the loan much sooner than expected. The quality of your staff and their knowledge was most impressive in attempting to get this loan through in a short time frame.

I am very satisfied with my home and the support I received from Baltimore Community Lending. I have recommended BCL to several of my friends, especially those considering rehab work on their property.

I was looking for a home in Baltimore City, and I decided that purchasing a home to rehab was the route to go. I stumbled upon a HUD home located on Fort Avenue that had been vacant for over a year, and I won the bidding. Through the process of searching for a home, I had become familiar with various city programs and incentives that can be utilized when purchasing a city property. My realtor suggested the Vacant Housing Loan Program (VHLP).

I contacted your office to inquire about the VHLP and after the first meeting I knew this was the program for me. The requirements and procedures were clearly spelled out regarding the contractor, the inspector, and others working together to complete the house. I was able to select my own contractor, and as soon as I obtained an estimate, we agreed on a loan amount and settlement occurred.

If I ever have the opportunity to purchase another vacant home in the city, I hope to obtain financing through the Vacant Housing Loan Program. Thank you for all of your time and assistance. We love our home!

Today, I am the proud and happy homeowner of a three-story brick row house in historic Sandtown Winchester because of Baltimore Community Lending. BCL loaned me the money for the complete rehab of my present residence. I am very appreciative in your confidence in me as a responsible borrower.

My home is on the same street that my parents lived for almost sixty-five years. I feel that my home ownership is continuing a legacy of permanence in this community.

Thank you, Ms. Clements for all that you did to make this possible. Kindly thank your colleagues, too, for all that they are doing to help fellow residents realize their dreams. You and Baltimore Community Lending are a godsend to us.
